FlashbackTo…| Islands in Thailand

Since I’ve been spamming my Instagram with Thailand pictures.. may as well bring it over to the blog.  If you’re new to my blog (sup boo!), my “flashbackto…” posts are more photo family album and less reviews/information. After two nights in Bangkok (read more here), we flew from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Chumphon  which was roughly $40-$75 ,we got on a ferry and headed to Ko Tao.

Koh Tao (sometimes spelt as Ko Tao)

Koh Tao is best known for scuba diving and if you’re a newbie there are shops around the island that offers certification for advanced diving, wreck diving, shark diving (read my experience here!)  or Nitrox diving. If like me you aren’t about that scuba diving life, don’t fret — the beaches of Koh Tao are gorgeous enough without all the activities; grab a book and get your vitamin D on.

The nightlife is LIT (literally, there are fire dancers); every night Sairee beach turns into a massive party including body shots. Enjoy dinner on the beach while enjoying the sunset and escalate your night by getting the Thai Whiskey bucket— it’s dangerous so proceed with caution.

Fun fact –the beach parties are pretty live (bumpin’ for you old farts) so though you might feel the neeeeddd to take off your clothes.. please don’t do it! It happened all the time and the workers were def NOT amused by it.

Don’t miss out on the beautiful views of John Suwan Viewpoint, it’s a quick hike and the view is definitely worth it!

Koh Phangan

Koh Phangan is a mere 15 minutes away and it has AWESOME snorkeling ( a separate post for this is coming soon! Subscribe to make sure you don’t miss it). You will see tons of aquatic animals — colorful fish, hard and soft coral, anemones and much more! I am BARELY a swimmer and I still saw a good amount of fish so it’s a great snorkel spot place for weak swimmers or beginners.

If water sports are not your thing,  there’s a 20 minute hike to the Koh Nangyuan “Viewpoint” which is a gives a breathtaking view of the island… that’s if you can see through the HORDES of tourists. Honestly, it’s not an exaggeration, it gets reallycrowded so I definitely recommend  you go early.

Island Hopping in Koh Tao and Koh Phagnan Thailand. Short flight from Bangkok, Thailand. Great snorkeling spots in Sairee Beach including John Suwan Viewpoint

Sometimes I think that being a travel blogger is my true calling. I see all the travel blogs on the internet and I say to myself “someday I will go there.” This looks like a truly amazing place to visit. Our planet has some wonderful places to see and this is another example of it’s beauty. Thanks for sharing your experience in Thailand!

    Cheers

Definitely take the leap!!! It doesn’t have to be somewhere as far as SE Asia, even if you venture out to the Caribbean or South America (assuming you’re in the US), it’s fairly close but still a whole different culture/world!
